Boys' Tennis and Softball Teams Vie for Sectional Titles
Both teams face Cocord-Carlisle in sectional championship action.
Lexington High School has two teams remaining in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) North Division I sectional championship hunt, and both are looking for title wins tonight and tomorrow.
The boys' tennis and softball teams will also each have to get past Concord-Carlisle High School in order to claim those sectional titles.
The second-seeded boys' tennis team beat St. John's Prep 4-1 Monday in the quarterfinals, then held off Andover with a 3-2 win in the semifinals.

With a finals match-up pitting undefeated teams, the Minutemen (22-0) faced top-ranked Concord-Carlisle (20-0) yesterday in a game that started at 3:30 p.m. at Newton South High School.
The 12th-ranked Lexington softball team rolled past 5th-ranked Boston Latin with a 5-1 win in the first round, then handed 4th-ranked Newton North a 1-0 loss in the quarterfinals.

In exciting fashion, the Minutemen beat Central Catholic 8-7 in the semifinals Wednesday night after being plagued by rain delays. After nearly blowing a 7-0 lead, Lexington held on for the win.
Today, Lexington (15-8) will again be the underdog, taking on top-ranked Concord-Carlisle (22-1) in the sectional final, with a 6p.m. game at Martin Field in Lowell.
