DEP Issues Alert As Smoke From Canadian Wildfires Spreads South
Air quality alert in effect until 8 p.m.
Those aren't hazy skies hanging over Lexington - the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has issued an air quality alert for most of eastern Massachusetts today due to smoke caused by wildfires burning in Quebec, Canada.
Winds have pushed smoke from those fires into New England today, and an air quality alert issued by the DEP is in effect until 8 p.m.
