The Best awards were determined by surveying residents and family members of senior living communities. U.S. News also solicited and considered feedback from industry experts.

In addition to the overall Best awards, U.S. News this year for the first time added accolades covering activities & enrichment, care, home-like feel, food & dining, and management & staff. These new ‘High Performing’ accolades recognize senior living communities ranked in the top 25% nationwide in their respective category.
