Fourth of July Observed with Closings Today

Fourth of July observed today for town government.

Closings on Monday in observance of Independence Day include Cary Memorial Library and the town government offices, including the Town Office Building. Lexpress buses will also not be running on Monday.

Trash and recycling pickup will also be pushed back a day because of the holiday, and the Hartwell Avenue Compost Facility will be closed.

What is happening today is the Lexington Lions Club's 2010 Fourth of July Carnival, at Center Field from 1 to 5 p.m. Today is "kiddies day," which includes a discount, with 33 percent fewer tickets collected per ride.
