Public Meeting on Hartwell Avenue Plan Tomorrow

$12.4 million plan could mean the creation of two roundabouts.

The public will have a chance to learn about and give feedback on proposed traffic mitigation plans in the Hartwell Avenue area tomorrow morning at Cary Memorial Hall.

At Tuesday night's Board of Selectmen's meeting, members heard a presentation about the $12.4 million proposed project, which could include creating two roundabouts at Hartwell Avenue and Bedford Street, and Hartwell Avenue and Maguire Road.

Currently, Hartwell Avenue has two travel lanes, and under a new plan that could increase to four lanes, with a median and roundabouts for direction change. Changes would also make the road more pedestrian- and biker-friendly.
