Tea Party Rally Brings Movement to Lexington
Sunday's "Lexington 2nd Revolution Tea Party Rally" will be held at Battle Green.
The Tea Party movement is happening across the country, and a handful of Lexington residents say they hope to bring local like-minded individuals together through a Tea Party rally Sunday at Battle Green.
The "Lexington 2nd Revolution Tea Party Rally" is set for Sunday, July 25 from 1 to 3 p.m., and includes speakers who will talk about America's founding and freedoms and issue a call to take back the country from professional politicians and special interests.
Organizer Jesse Segovia said it is the first rally of its kind in Lexington, and he hopes it will draw several hundred people. A similar rally held in Waltham last month attracted about 350 people, he said, and the rally is aimed in part at jumpstarting a tea party group in Lexington.
