The week started off with news that a burglary at a Bertwell Road home on May 22 appears similar to other burglaries in Lexington in February and March, and those committed in nearby communities.
Also on Monday, the Lexington High School Film Festival was held at Lexington Venue, with 13 student-made films shown. Senior Kevin Choi won first prize for "Marco," with freshman Daniel Laikhter taking second place for "Turtles" and sophomores Eleanor Rask and Lauren Buschini winning third place for "Debonair."
Gov. Deval Patrick also announced this week that Lexington was one of 35 across the state selected as a "green community." The town will now be eligible to apply for a portion of $8.1 million in grant funds for energy-saving projects.

At Tuesday night's the committee voted unanimously to use $706,196 in surplus fiscal 2010 funds to pay for supplies, materials, textbooks, equipment and professional development requested by principals and department heads throughout the district.
Thursday and Friday nights, the LHS Spring Pops Concert was held at the high school, with 700 students participating in the two-night performance. Also on Friday night, the LHS baseball team won its final regular season game, beating Lowell 6-0.

Saturday was Discovery Day in town, and in its 31st year still drew a huge crowd to its street fair, to see entertainment, eat good food.
