UPDATED: Four People Dead in Apartment Fire in Lynn
The identities of the four victims will be released by the Essex District Attorney's Office upon confirmation of positive identification.

Four people are dead after an early morning apartment fire on Friday in Lynn, according to Jennifer Mieth, Public Information Officer, Massachusetts Department of Fire Services.
The fire at 24 Bruce Place was reported about 12:45 a.m. Friday.

Firefighters also rescued two people from the burning building, according to Lynn fire officials.

Firefighters say the two-and-a-half story apartment building was engulfed in flames when they arrived. Salem, Mass., Engine 4 was among the crews providing mutual aid to Lynn firefighters.
As part of the investigation, they are asking anyone with information to contact the Lynn Fire Department at 781 599-0232 or the State Fire Marshal’s Office at 1-800-682-9229. If someone saw or heard something around 12:45 a.m. this morning when the fire started or has video of the fire in its early stages, it would be helpful if they came forward and can do so confidentially.
The fire is being jointly investigated by the Lynn Fire and Police Departments and State Police assigned to the Office of the State Fire Marshal. The Code Compliance Unit of the Department of Fire Services is conducting a review of the history of the building including the presence or absence of smoke alarms.
The identities of the four victims will be released by the Essex District Attorney’s Office, upon confirmation of positive identification from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and family notification.
