Next Sunday, September 29 starting at 10 a.m., the LHS Hockey Boosters hold their annual car wash fundraiser at the South Fire Station parking lot off Salem Street. Suggested donation is $5.

From The Lynnfield Senior Center: Lunch and an afternoon with Mark Twain: Come and enjoy a delightful look at the life and work of one of America’s foremost humorist. Enjoy his special brand of storytelling, wit and wisdom. A southern inspired lunch will be served. Tuesday, Sept. 24th at 11:30. Tickets on sale now.  Please purchase your tickets at the front desk. $7.00. Seating is limited !

The annual Friends of the Lynnfield Library Used Book Sale is coming up on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Old Meeting House. Do you have books, DVDs or CDs you can donate? Bring boxed or bagged donations to the library circulation desk or call 781-477-9724 to arrange a pickup.

Speaking of the library, they’re having a birthday party for Johnny Appleseed this Thursday, Sept. 26 at 3:30 p.m. Bring the kids by for stories about Johnny Appleseed, and an apple treat.

A new season of coffee house events is underway at the Lynnfield Community Church on Salem Street. Concerts are the second and fourth Fridays of the month, with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. and music starting at 7:45 p.m. Coming up on Friday, September 27 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Andrew Geano performs.
