Come join us for our Annual Christmas Concert and Dance! Literally, this is a family event. This annual affair, sponsored by members of the Melrose UU Church, begins at 7PM with a classical and folk music concert by the Kaynor family of Melrose MA, and then around 8PM participatory dancing that spans 400 years of New England tradition from the Baroque Playford English dances brought here by the colonists to the modern-day contras, with squares with couples dances like waltzes and polkas mixed in. The dances are easy and well-taught, and sit-in musicians can join the band.
Even if dancing isn't for you, joining as a community at the end of the year is always a heart-warming thing. This is a whole-family event that everyone can enjoy. There is no admission (though donations to offset costs are welcomed) and light refreshments will be provided.
