Accused Man In Mansfield Domestic Assault Ordered To House Arrest

MANSFIELD, MA — A Mansfield man is accused of choking his wife and possessing an illegal assault-style rifle and magazines will not be allowed to leave his home.
Gregory Tobichuk, 34, was determined by Attleboro District Court Judge Daniel O’Shea to be dangerous and was ordered to house arrest and GPS monitoring Monday, according to the Sun Chronicle. Prosecutors argued that his wife would only be safe with him in jail.
Tobichuk was arrested at his Mansfield home on July 5 after allegedly assaulting his wife. He admitted to punching a hole in the wall but denied touching his wife. Officers who responded to the scene said the victim had a back eye, red marks, and bruises.

Several weapons, including an AR-15 assault-style rifle with an illegal stock, were seized along with his firearms license.
Tobichuk works as a corrections officer at MCI-Framingham. He faces charges of assault and battery, strangulation and various weapons violations.
