In November 2015, Hinds became involved in a road rage-type incident with 37-year-old Jarrad Aronne of Foxborough as they traveled on Route 495 North in Mansfield. Following a collision, Aronne's 2007 Chevrolet 2500 pickup flipped over. Aronne was killed in the crash.
Prosecutors said in the trial that Hinds cut off Aronne while driving on the ramp, but Hinds said that Aronne's vehicle came up from behind him at a high rate of speed just before the crash. He said that he kept driving because he thought that a truck he mistook for Aronne's truck was chasing him.
