Ex-Mansfield Firefighter Admits To 2nd OUI, Hit And Run

MANSFIELD, MA — A man who spent 10 years as a firefighter for the Mansfield Fire Department as admitted to driving while drunk.
James P. Devine, 38, pleaded guilty in Attleboro District Court Thursday to his second OUI charge and leaving the scene of a crash with property damage. He received two years of probation and orders to undergo an abuse evaluation and follow any aftercare recommendations, according to the Sun Chronicle.
Court records indicate that Devine crashed into the rear of a vehicle stopped at a traffic light in downtown Mansfield on Oct. 20, 2017. After he talked to the other driver, who called police, Devine left the scene and later picked up his daughter from a bus stop. He was arrested at his Attleboro home.
