Join the Pan-Mass Challenge in the Fight Against Cancer
The Pan-Mass Challenge, is a bike-a-thon that helps raise money for charity is seeking a new Kids Rides Coordinator.
From PMC Kids Rides: The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), a bike-a-thon that today raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the world, hosts more than 30 PMC Kids Rides throughout Massachusetts and New England. This year, the PMC aims to expand the rides and is calling for an eager, passionate and dedicated volunteer in Mansfield to join the fight as a PMC Kids Rides Coordinator.
In 2016, 30 PMC Kids Rides attracted over 4,000 young cyclists and 1,500 volunteers. Kids between the ages of two and 15 rode between one and 26 miles in mini-bike-a-thons to raise money for cancer care and research, together raising more than $723,000 as part of the PMC’s $47 million gift to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
The PMC Kids Rides are spokes in the PMC wheel, joining thousands of adult PMC cyclists in their mission to fund adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber. The PMC is a two-day, 192-mile bike-a-thon held the first weekend of every August. Since 1980, the PMC has raised more than $547 million for Dana-Farber.
