Mansfield Man Believed To Be Behind Norton Break-ins: Police

NORTON, MA — A Mansfield man charged in a Norton break-in was arrested Wednesday is believed to be connected to other area break-ins, police said.

John Constantino, 30, faces a charge of receiving stolen property. He was arraigned in Attleboro District Court Thursday.

Police responded to a home on Taunton Avenue for a report of a break-in at 7:10 p.m. At the scene, officers received another call for a previous break-in on Charles Lane.

Surveillance video from the Charles Lane residences showed a man attempting to break into the home. It is believed that the man on camera, later identified as Constantino, is the same person responsible for break-ins that occurred across Norton during the past few week.

Constantino was located by a Norton police officer near Worcester Street. Shortly afterwards, Constantino allegedly fled the scene and was arrested on Margaret Drive.

Police say Constantino had stolen items on him.

Massachusetts State Police assisted the search with a K9 unit and their helicopter.

Constantino pleaded not guilty tot he charge and was ordered held on $2,500 cash bail. He is due back in court Sept. 18, according to the Sun Chronicle.
