Mansfield Police Logs Through August 22
The following is from the Mansfield Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned they do not indicate convictions.

August 19
4:27 p.m. Breaking and Entering (Motor Vehicle). Wexford Drive. Reporting Party called to report past Breaking and Entering to her motor vehicle that occurred overnight. Purse, wallet, credit cards, and cash taken.
7:47 p.m. General Services. Mansfield Fish and Game, 510 East Street. Reporting Party called 911 after his friend got stuck behind a fence at Mansfield Fish & Game while looking for her lost dachshunds. Clear. Contact made with involved female who reports she was able to squeeze through the fence and is gone now.
11:48 p.m. Disturbance/General. West Street and Carpenter Ave. Reporting Party called to report youths smoking marijuana at location. Clear. Parties moved along. Drug violation unfounded.
August 20
11:40 a.m. Malicious Damage. Hawthorne Ct. Reporting Party called to report the brake lines in her car were cut in an attempt to kill her. Reporting Party reports the incident occurred in Falmouth over the weekend. Verbal altercation between two parties Saturday night into Sunday. The suspect threatened to damage the vehicle. The Reporting Party had it towed from that area to another area before driving it home. When she got in the vehicle, the brake pedal went to the floor. Reporting Party took it to a garage where determined that the brake was tampered with, not normal wear and tear. Officer to obtain statement from mechanic.
12:46 p.m. Animal Complaint. Pleasant Street. Reporting Party called to report two lost dachshunds in the area. One dachshund is still at large. Owner is on-scene and assisting Animal Control Officer.
1:44 p.m. Animal Complaint. Bike Path, Fruit Street. Reporting Party called to report a small white dog running and and out of the roadway in the area. Clear. Animal made its way home.
3:20 p.m. Malicious Damage. Victoria Lane. Reporting Party called to report her mailbox was damaged last night at 10:30 p.m. Reporting Party observe the tail lights of the vehicle but could not give a description. Appears the mailbox was struck by a baseball bat as the post was not damaged. Reporting Party did not wish to speak with an officer.
11:07 p.m. Disturbance/General. Casey O'Conor's 219 North Main Street. Officer reports being flagged down by a party at Rumford Ave. reporting a group of youths possibly fighting in the parking lot of Casey O'Conor's. Officer reports speaking with several parties who are on foot in the area but claim they were not involved.
August 21
3 a.m. Animal Complaint. Officer out to assist homeowner with a bat inside the home. Unable to catch the bat, went into a hole in the ceiling. Party advised to call the station if she sees the bat again.
7:49 a.m Malicious Damage. Bellview Drive. Reporting Party into the lobby reports damage to her mailbox last night. Officer reports he spoke with the party and will be following up. Log item only at this time.
3:37 p.m. Larceny (misdemeanor). Shaw's Supermarket, 390 West Street. Reporting Party into the station to report his wallet was lost while at Shaw's.
9:17 p.m. Disturbance/General. Perkins Ave. Reporting Party reports possible gun shots heard in the area between Highland Ave and Perkins Ave. Unfounded.
August 22
6:50 a.m. Breaking and Entering (Motor Vehicle). Maple Street. Reporting Party Reports Reporting Party reports three vehicles at her house were broken into overnight. Officer reports nothing was taken out of the vehicles.
8:30 a.m. Breaking and Entering (Motor Vehicle). Rosewood Drive. Reporting Party reports his two vehicles were broken into sometime overnight. Clear. Unlocked Motor Vehicle entered overnight.
10:08 a.m. Breaking and Entering (Motor Vehicle). Reporting Party called to report Breaking and Entering to his motor vehicle overnight. Clear.
10:17 a.m. Arrest Report. Otto A. Bingel, 62, of East Street was arrested on an outstanding warrent.
11:20 a.m. Breaking and Entering (Motor Vehicle). Jennifer Drive. Reporting Party called to report two vehicles entered overnight.
4:23 p.m. Larceny (misdemeanor). Reporting Party into the lobby for check fraud. Party sent her a check for $2,445 to cash and told her to take money out to give to the movers that are coming to pick the records up. Check never cleared at the bank. Reporting Party called party back, who stated he would send another check. Reporting Party was advised to block the number and not to deal with the party any further.
5:51 p.m. Larceny (Felony). Reporting Party into the lobby to report larceny from the residence. Items taken, coin collection, two jewelry boxes. $50 gift card and hand written letters from deceased wife.
6:27 p.m. Disturbance/General. North Street. Reporting Party reports dirt bikes on North Street. Officer reports party advised this is the final warning. If the bike leaves the property again it will be towed and will be cited for unlicensed suspension.
6:43 p.m. Animal Complaint. Ware Street. Dead bat in the garage. Issue taken care of.
9:30 p.m. Disturbance/General. Pratt Street. Reporting Party reports a group of kids listening to loud music. Officer spoke with subjects. They will turn down the music. All clear.
