Mansfield Police Logs Through July 28: Multiple People Arrested For Soliciting

The following is from the Mansfield Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned they do not indicate convictions.

July 25

1:29 a.m. Disturbance/general. 100 Block, Church Street. Reporting Party reports a group of kids in the area being loud and yelling obscenities. Party called back and reports four white males ran into the backyard of his neighbor’s residence. Officer reports a total of eight individuals, 6 males, 2 females in the area. Trying to gather all parties.

10:14 a.m. Malicious damage. Central Street. Homeowner reports her sun roof was smashed over night. She reports she is down the Cape at this time and will come to the station after work to file a report.

11:37 a.m. Suspicious person/motor vehicle. Grain Mills Apartments, Samoset Ave. Reporting Party reports he believed he saw a past drug deal in the parking lot. He states there was a group of youths that came in three cars and all got into one car and left. Officer reports he spoke with Reporting Party and will pass along information to the detectives.

1:05 p.m. Suspicious person/motor vehicle. Meadow Lane. Reporting Party reports a male party in a dark SUV going door-to-door on his street. He reports when the male party came to his door, he threw him off his property. He states the male is now at a neighbor’s home. Officer reports the male party had a valid permit and advised him of the complaint.

1:34 p.m. Suspicious person/motor vehicle. Meadow Lane. Officer is responding to locate the male party going door-to-door to let him know the permit was revoked by the chief of police. Party was advised of the actions police would take if he does not stop.  

6:09 p.m. Suspicious person/motor vehicle. Eddy Street. Caller reports a gold chevy occupied by two people, who were allegedly smoking a controlled substance in the car.

10:41 p.m. Breaking and Entering (dwelling/commercial). West Street. Caller reports someone may be attempting to break into the residence. Reporting Party heard a loud noise by the front or side slider door. Reporting Party is in a bedroom upstairs. Officer reports house is secure, spoke with homeowner and she is satisfied.

11:52 p.m. Larceny (misdemeanor). East Street. Caller reports the theft of prescription meds from her residence. Officer reports nothing in the residence appears to be disturbed, pills may have been misplaced as the hiding place is changed daily.

July 26

1:21 a.m. Suspicious person/motor vehicle. North Main Street. Reporting Party reports three parties possibly breaking into Cheng Du. Officer reports three parties at the bar and bartender working. Clear.

4:02 a.m. Suspicious person/motor vehicle. Robinson School, 245 East Street. Checking on a motor vehicle which appears to be camping out. Officer reports parties advised that they cannot camp out on school property.

4:55 a.m. Animal Complaint. Essex Street. Norton Police Department reports one white and one brown horse loose. Norton has animal control en route. Horses are staying at Butler Stables.

12:53 p.m. Larceny (motor vehicle) Suffolk Road. Reporting party reports a stolen trailer from the property. He reports it was noticed last night at approximately 7 p.m. Officer reports the trailer was stolen overnight.

2:39 p.m. Suspicious person/motor vehicle. Noreen Road. Reporting Party reports a female party going door-to-door, does not know if that party has a permit. Officer reports female was gone prior to his arrival.

7:31 p.m. Soliciting. Franklin Street. Ana Cora M Lagros, 29, of Tampa Fla. was arrested for a peddling/soliciting door-to-door violation.  

9:07 p.m. Soliciting. Old Stable Drive. Dominique Hicks, 22, of Sarasota, Fla. was arrested for a peddling/soliciting door-to-door violation.

9:37 p.m. Suspicious person/motor vehicle. Old Stable Drive. Reporting Party called to report a tan-colored vehicle in the area, possibly the ride for the solicitors. Clear. Van is full of people and driver reports he has all employees and will be headed back to New Bedford.

10:48 p.m. Disturbance/General. Rumford Sqaure Apartments, Colony Way. Reporting Party called to report youths in the parking lot lighting off fireworks. Clear. Area search negative.

July 27

8:23 a.m. Disturbance/General. Francis Ave. Reporting Party called to a party with short hair, wearing gray shirt and black pants banging on her door and asking to use the bathroom. Party reports he was visiting a friend and had a hard time remembering the building number, denied knocking on the door.

12:03 p.m. Larceny (felony). Holiday Inn, 31 Hampshire Street. Reporting Party walked into station to report his laptop was stolen from the Holiday Inn. Clear. Incident occurred last Sunday night. A MacBook still in the box was stolen.

July 28

12:43 a.m. Disturbance/general. Nicole Road. Caller states she heard a loud gunshot or explosion five to 10 minutes ago behind her house, which borders Easton. Contacted Easton and they reported an explosion of some type in the Rockland Street area, which borders property on Nicole Road. Nothing found by either Mansfield nor Easton.

2:05 a.m. Disturbance/general. Lawndale Road. Caller states loud music from kids in the area. Officer states several cars were leaving the area upon his arrival, will stay for a few more minutes.

12:53 p.m. Animal Complaint. Draper Ave. Reporting Party called to report her dog was attacked by a pit bull in the neighborhood yesterday around 10:30 p.m.

1:48 p.m. Larceny (misdemeanor). CVS, Chauncy Street. Reporting Party called to report a larceny from the store approximately 20 minutes ago. Two female suspects: #1 5’4” with brown highlights, short hair, and an aqua green/blue shirt. #2 5’5” with a black tank top, heavier set. One returned an item while the other took a reusable bag and filled it with items, then left. CVS is still in the process of ascertaining what was taken.

2:52 p.m. Breaking and Entering (motor vehicle). Central Street. Reporting Party walked into lobby to report a past Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. Clear. The incident occurred during the overnight Wednesday (7/24)-Thursday (7/25). Entry was gained by breaking a partially open sun roof. Tom Tom GPS and approximately $50 in cash was taken.

4:34 p.m. Larceny (felony). Plain Street. Reporting Party reports his kayak was taken from the water by his house. Last time he saw it was Wednesday. Description: Brown 10-foot Excursion Kayak.
