No Arrangement Yet For East Street Incident Suspect

MANSFIELD, MA — The man who was arrested following an incident on East Street has yet to appear in court.
As of Friday, the man, whose name has not been released, remained in Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro for treatment of self-inflicted injuries and a crisis evaluation, according to the Sun Chronicle.
At 6:25 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a report of a man who threw a television out the window of his East Street home before breaking windows. He then armed himself with a shard of glass and began nailing his doors and windows shut, according to a press release from Mansfield Police Chief Ronald Sellon.

MetroLEC officers were able to talk the man into surrendering, and he was treated for self-inflicted injuries and taken to the hospital.
East Street was closed during the incident.
