North Attleboro Man Charged for Pushing Boy Underwater at Mansfield Pool

A North Attleboro man faces assault charges after allegedly holding his girlfriend’s eight-year-old son underwater at Mansfield’s Canoe River Campground pool, according to the Sun Chronicle.

A witness told police that the man, Shawn E. Rossi, 40, of North Attleborough, pushed the boy underwater after he had jumped in the pool and hit, or nearly hit other swimmers, said the Chronicle.

Police told that Chronicle that the boy gasped for air when he came to the surface, after a 26-year-old man intervened. The boy did not require medical attention.
