MANSFIELD, MA — A Pawtucket woman received a suspended jail sentence after being found guilty of causing a drugged driving crash.
Chelsey Reed, 29, was sentenced in Attleboro District Court Tuesday to a suspended 60-day jail sentence and two years of probation. She was also ordered to undergo a substance abuse evaluation, follow any recommended treatment and counseling, and submit to random drug testing during her probation period, according to the Sun Chronicle.
On April 3, Mansfield Police received a call from a driver who said she saw a vehicle being driven in an erratic manning on Reservoir Street in Norton before continuing on South Main Street towards the Interstate 495 North on-ramp. The caller said the vehicle was swerving and was in someone's yard before turning left towards the highway. A short time later, the caller provided play-by-play for the way the vehicle came to a halt.

"She almost just took out a car...and she just went off the highway and back on, oh good lord, she just, oh my God, she just went up and over the side, over the curb, and into the guardrail and now she's just at a stop," the caller told the dispatcher.
Photos at the scene show the vehicle stopped with a flat tire and partially in the median on Route 140 North towards Interstate 495 North.

Reed was identified as the driver of the vehicle.
The arrest was Reed's second this year. In February, she rear-ended a car and left the scene. She told police that she didn't stay because she was late for drug rehab.
