Police Log Through August 1: Several Arrests Were Made This Week
The following is from the Mansfield Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned they do not indicate convictions.

July 29
8:13 a.m. Animal Complaint. Rumford Avenue. Reporting Party called to report a bat on the wall in her house. Officer to handle complaint.
10:47 a.m. Larceny (felony). Ware Street. Reporting Party called to report larceny of the pool and ladder from the backyard of her grandmother’s property. Reporting Party reports that the house has been vacant now for three weeks. Clear. Report of larceny 20-foot above-ground pool and 30-foot aluminum ladder taken sometime since July 1.

2:01 p.m. Arrest Report. Red Roof Inn, 60 Forbes Boulevard. Michael J. Burke, 24, of Charlestown was arrested on a prior arrest warrant, after police checked on his motorcycle with no license plates on it.
7:09 p.m. Animal complaint. Gilbert Street. Reporting Party reports she was bitten by a dog on York Road. She reports speaking to the owner of the dog. Dog owner takes responsibility, report will be forwarded to Animal Control Officer. The reporting party will be taking herself to Sturdy Hospital for evaluation.

7:15 p.m. Larceny (misdemeanor). Central Street. Reporting Party reports his bike was stolen from the driveway. Description: black and red 18-speed men’s bike.
9:08 a.m. Suspicious person/motor vehicle. Rumford Ave. Anonymous reporting party reports two males are using drugs in the rear parking lot near the tennis courts. Males admit to marijuana use. Officer destroyed the remaining marijuana on-scene. Parties sent on their way.
July 30
7:15 a.m. Malicious Damage. 300-block, Essex Street. Party would like to speak with an officer about vandalism at the Community Garden. Officer reports a plastic shed was broken into and tools were scattered about the area.
3:32 p.m. Harassment/Threats. Shaw’s Supermarket, 390 West Street. Caller reports being harassed by a motor vehicle with Florida plates. Calling parties reported the driver cut them off in traffic then made aggressive braking maneuvers. No description of the driver, but reports the car was traveling to Home Depot. Nothing found in the area.
July 31
9:27 a.m. Animal Complaint. Jewel and Balcom Streets. Reporting Party reports an injured coyote in the area. Officer reports it is a fox and it is injured. He reports the fox runs into the woods when approached.
11:44 a.m. Larceny (misdemeanor). Rumford Square Apartments, Old Colony Way. Reporting Party reports her ex-boyfriend has been using her ATM card. Report filed.
1:15 p.m. Shoplifting. Stop & Shop, 377 Chauncy Street. Reporting Party Reports a female party just tried to shoplift from the store. He reports she walked down forbes, got into a vehicle and headed towards Route 140.
1:33 p.m. Disturbance/general. Highland Avenue. Reporting Party reports kids playing baseball in the street and due to town bylaws no games are to be played in the street using a ball and he wants them to stop. Officer spoke with kids and advised them of the town bylaw. Clear.
3:49 p.m. Arrest. Ware Street. Michael Edward Parker, 50, of Ware Street was arrested because he is a level three sex offender who failed to register.
5:30 p.m. Arrests Report. CVS, 261 Chauncy Street. 47-year-old Jane E. Lee of Hyde Park, a CVS employee, was arrested for attempting to file false prescriptions.
August 1
1:57 a.m. Arrest Report. 300-block, Willow Street. 21-year-old David O. Bryant of King Arthur Way was arrested for operating under the influence of Liquor, Negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating with a suspended license, leaving the scene of property damage, and a marked lanes violation.
9:51 p.m. Larceny (Felony). Charles Street. Reporting Party comes into the station to report a vacation rental scam. Reporting Party wired $3,450 to person for a rental, which he did not own.
10:05 p.m. Arrest Report. Dunkin Donuts, 45 Chauncy Street. Corey R. Medeiros, 43, of Old Colony Way was arrested on a previous arrest warrant after he was spoken to by an officer for spending a long time in a Dunkin Donuts bathroom.
