Christmas Walk to Include Santa's Arrival by Lobster Boat, Tree Lighting and Parade

The Marblehead Chamber of Commerce has announced the schedule for the 2014 Christmas Walk.

The “magical event that captures the spirit of Christmas throughout Marblehead” is planned for Dec. 4-7 with more than 80 local businesses and stores planning to participate.

The Christmas Walk kicks off on Thursday, Dec. 4 with holiday preview parties.

The tree lighting will take place on Friday, Dec. 5 from 6-7:15 p.m. when the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce Rey Moulton Person of the Year, Dr. Keith Taylor, will light the tree at National Grand Bank. It will be a locally grown tree.

In all, there will be more than 100 events going on throughout Marblehead as part of the Christmas Walk.

The schedule is below:

Thursday, Dec. 4: Holiday Shopping Preview Parties from 5-8 p.m. throughout retail stores.

Friday, Dec. 5:Tree Lighting from 6-7:15 p.m. at the National Grand Bank Parking Lot, 94 Pleasant St. with live music.

Saturday, Dec. 6: Watch and listen to live performances by A Dancer’s Dream starting at 9 a.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by Lobster Boat at 9:30 a.m. The Christmas Walk parade will begin at 11:45 a.m. at State Street Landing.

Sunday, Dec. 7: Magical holiday events, entertainment and activities for kids, parents and pets throughout town.

The Christmas Walk will have a focus on local school groups performing through the town plus shopping, sipping and munching along with story times, holiday crafts for kids, raffles, pet fun, sale and treats.
