Knit For Returning Service Members: Marblehead Knits
A Marblehead group is seeking knitter to create blankets and cold weather gear for service members coming through Logan.

MARBLEHEAD, MA – SPUR is getting the word out about an event sponsored by Marblehead Knits and Secure Lock and Alarm: Knit Your Bit.
The initiative seeks to provide blankets, hats, scarves, and mitten for members of the military returning home from active duty. Service members can use the blankets or take the winter accessories as needed from the Logan Airport USO Lounge.
Knitters are need for the first meeting on Thursday, May 4, to make either a 14x14 square for a blanket, or use a pattern for a hat, scarf, or cowel. The blanket pieces will be sewn together into a larger blanket.

Secure Lock and Alarm donated $250 to provide the first 25 participants with a free blanket square kit. Other kits range from $10 to $15.
