Longtime Marblehead Resident Departs School Committee

Longtime Marblehead resident Susie Pratt resigned her seat on the School Committee this week.

MARBLEHEAD, MA - Longtime Marblehead resident Susie Pratt resigned her seat on the Marblehead School Committee this week, according to Wicked Local.

In her letter of resignation, dated Dec. 5, Pratt wrote, “It is with regret that I write to resign from the Marblehead School Committee. Due to personal circumstances, I am no longer able to give the position the focus and commitment necessary.”

Pratt was just re-elected to her second term on the board last May and while she just officially resigned a week ago, her name had already been removed from the committee’s website.

According to Town Manager John McGinn, the next step is for the selectmen to announce the vacancy and invite interested parties to apply to fill the seat. Then the two boards will meet in a joint session to review the applications, conduct interviews and choose a successor, he said. Tedford said she expected to have the details by the committee’s next meeting on Dec. 21.
