Magicians Grab Top 10 Ranking After 3-0 Start

The Marblehead High School football team is one of the top teams three weeks into the season.

The Marblehead High School football team has moved into the Boston Globe’s top 10 after Friday night’s win over Salem.

The team is 3-0 with convincing wins over Danvers, Lynn Classical and Salem. On Friday night, the Marblehead 40-20 over Salem after going up 40-6 after three quarters.

The Magicians went from No. 11 to No. 9 this week in the Globe’s poll and are No. 1 in Division 3 Northeast with a 11.67 power rating, as calculated by the MIAA Football Committee. In Division 3 Northwest, Concord-Carlisle, Arlington and Woburn all have a higher power rating.

This weekend, it is Thanksgiving about two months early when the Big Blue come to Piper Field for the rivalry game versus Swampscott (0-3) at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26.
