Marblehead Athletes Competing in Shriners Football Classic

Two athletes from Marblehead High School will be among the 100 football players chosen to play in the annual Shringers Football Classic.

Two Marblehead athletes will be playing in the Shriners Football Classic this year on June 15 at Gillette Stadium. The event, on its 34th year, raises funds for the Shriners Hospitals for Children and, to date, has raised over $1 million.

The game features 100 athletes from 69 high schools across the state, and will be a competition of high school athletes from North of Boston against those from South of Boston.

Both playing for the north team, number 55 Tyler Bates, 220 pounds 6' 1 '', and number 12 Ian Maag, 190 pounds, 6 feet, 10 inches, were the two Marblehead High School students chosen to play in the classic.

General Admission tickets are $15 and can be purchased through the Aleppo Shriners (978-657-4202 ext. 20), at the Gillette Stadium Ticket Office, at any Ticketmaster outlet or at www.ticketmaster.com or 800-745-3000. Tickets also will be available day of game at the Gillette Stadium Ticket Office. All ticket proceeds benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
