Marblehead Break Ins: Church, Home Entered On Sunday

Breaking into a church is never a good idea, but on a Sunday morning especially.

MARBLEHEAD, MA – St. Andrews Church on Lafayette Street appears to have been broken into around 3:45 a.m. on Sunday, along with a private residence near the church.

Police were called to St. Andrews around 3:45 a.m. when the burglar alarm went off. Officers found a cut screen and open window on the property, and discovered that an office had been entered. A church representative and police determined that nothing had been taken.

Officers theorize that the burglar alarm scared the suspect off, according to a Facebook post.

Police went back to the area later in the day, but this time on a report of a private residence that had been broken into. A window to the attached garage was broken and removed, and the suspect seems to have taken things from a car inside the garage.

According to the Facebook post, police suspect the incident happened around the same time as the church break in.
