Marblehead Fuel Spill: Gregory Street Reopened

Officials closed Gregory Street after a fuel tank ruptured.

MARBLEHEAD, MA – Gregory Street closed around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday between Commercial Street and Catherine Lane after a fuel tank ruptured in the parking lot of the Glover Landing Condominiums, but has since been reopened.

A statement from Marblehead Police said the Department of Public Works, Fire Department, Board of Health crews, and Department of Environmental Protection were on scene cleaning up the road.

Road blocks were reportedly in place at the intersections of Gregory and Commercial streets, Gregory and Barnard streets, Gregory and Hawks streets at the top of the hill, Gregory Street and Allerton Place, and Gregory Street and Catherine Lane.

Glover Landing residents were instructed to use Hawks Street to Lindsey Street and enter the complex up Catherine Lane, police said.
