Marblehead Officers Honored With State Award
Two Marblehead Police officers were part of the team that saved a person suffering from cardiac arrest.

MARBLEHEAD, MA – Last January, two Marblehead police officers helped save the life of a 66-year-old having a cardiac arrest in the Abbot Public Library.
The officers – Andrew Clark and Adam Mastrangelo – responded to a call of a person yelling on the first floor of the library, according to a Marblehead Police Department Facebook post. The officers found a person in full cardiac arrest.
The officers were honored on Thursday with the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee Lifesaving Award.

According to the Facebook post, Clark performed chest compressions while Mastrangelo set up the defibrillator. One shock from the defibrillator stimulated a light pulse in the patient, who was transported to the Salem Hospital ER.
The post noted that the individual survived, and that the officers were acting as part of a team who worked together to save the life of the patient.
