MARBLEHEAD, MA - The following are excerpts from the Marblehead Police Department Logs for Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Tuesday, Dec. 5

  • A Marblehead resident called police to report that a Lynn Meatland truck drove past him at a high rate of speed and almost hit a child.
  • A Marblehead resident called police to report a truck that struck a parked car.
  • A Neptune Road resident called police to report hearing gun shots from the water near his home. Officers notified him it was likely duck hunters in the area for hunting season.
  • A Crown Way resident reported receiving scam calls from 901-399-0135 detailing fraudulent charges against him.
  • A resident turned in a lost cell phone to police, which was then returned.
  • Police were called to assist a resident planning on checking her sister into the hospital for alcoholism.
  • A Hawkes Street resident called to complain about a 'grandparent scam', in which the suspect called pretending to be her grandson. He claimed he was arrested for drugs and needed money for bail.
  • A Washington Street resident called police to report she had lost her iPhone somewhere downtown.
  • Several callers reached out to police to report a white pickup truck which had struck a mother and her two kids on Pleasant Street. The driver did not stop but later turned himself in.
  • A Londonderry Road resident reported a snow removal company 'Snow Angels' who solicited her for services.
  • A Marblehead resident reported someone had smeared dog poop all over her vehicle while it was parked on Roundhouse Road.
  • A Green Street resident came into the police station to report her 'out of control' grandson who was yelling and throwing things at her home.
