Marblehead Star Student: Maya Earned Dean's Scholarship At Choate

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Brad Robie, who nominated Maya Robie, a 12th grader from Marblehead who attends Choate.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Throughout her career at Choate, Maya has challenged herself and taken some really difficult classes.

She consistently takes 6 classes a term, and most of her classes are at the honors level. She has made the Dean's list every year of High School, and her current GPA is 4.15.

She was accepted early decision to Northeastern this year where she received a Dean's scholarship for her academic excellence at Choate. She is also a Prefect in a Sophomore Dorm where she helps take care of 16- and 17-year-olds as well. I am so incredibly proud of how hard she works, and how self-motivated she has been these last four years.
