Midday Flooding Affects Parts of Marblehead

Coastal flooding and flooding in Old Town were both reported midday Tuesday as a Nor'Easter moved through the area.

Minor flooding was reported in Marblehead around high tide early Tuesday afternoon, according to Marblehead police and the National Weather Service.

A Nor’Easter moving through the area brought heavy rain and strong winds. The most severe weather was expected to move out on Tuesday night.

Marblehead police said the causeway to Marblehead Neck remained open through high tide - which was just before 1 p.m. - and there was some minor splash over. Workers from the Highway Department were also in the area, keeping an eye on the storm surge.
