Police Disperse Night Swimmers

The following is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police log from Monday through Tuesday. 

 

  • Monday at 3:10 p.m., A 56-year-old Marblehead man was issued a summons for shoplifting at Macy’s in Peabody by Peabody Police.
  • At 10:07 p.m. Monday, police received a complaint about kids yelling and setting off fireworks on Surf Street and Spray Avenue. No one was there when police arrived.
  • At 1:06 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to for a report of people screaming and swimming. Police found five people swimming when they arrived and sent everyone on their way.
  • At 9:42 a.m. Tuesday, police tagged a boat trailer on Dodge Road for parking the wrong way and a plate decal violation.
  • At 1:12 p.m. Tuesday, a resident reported she was scammed out of $300 over the Internet. Police directed the woman to the FBI's Internet crime site.
  • At 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, police and fire were called to a Harris Street residence for a report of a gas smell. National Grid was called. It was found the woman's child had turned the stove on and that's where the smell was coming from. The house was ventilated to get rid of the smell.
  • At 2:48 p.m. Tuesday, a person told police there was a skater skating around the parking lot on Pleasant Street. When the person told the skater to get out of the road, the skater "gave her attitude" she said.  The skater was gone when police arrived.
  • At 3:29 p.m. Tuesday, a credit card was found at The credit card is now at the police station.
  • At 3:48 p.m. Tuesday, a missing child was reported on The child was found soon after.
