Posing as a Firefighter: Marblehead Police Log

Someone pretended to be a firefighter to collect a donation, and a person in a fur coat verbally accosted a shop clerk.

Police responded to a Washington Street business last Wednesday afternoon on a report of a woman in a fur coat verbally assaulting the clerk.

Scammers called a man last Wednesday and claimed to be his grandson. The "grandson" claimed he was in trouble with police and needed money to get out of it. The man knew he was being scammed and didn't give away any money, but was upset about the attempt.

Officers took a report of a lost wallet on Atlantic Avenue last Friday around noon. The wallet is zippered with a black, brown, and white floral pattern.

Police responded to a report of an "underage drinking party" on Ware Lane last Friday around 8 p.m. Officers collected evidence and brought it back to the station.

An anonymous man called police on Saturday to report a road rage incident on Atlantic Avenue and Commercial Street. The caller said a driver followed him and pulled over to exchange "foul words," after an incident pulling out of a parking spot.

Residents on Front Street were putting cones out to prevent people from parking on the street on Tuesday morning. Officers told her she could move the cones, but the caller said she didn't want to start a feud.

Someone called police on Tuesday evening to report that someone was walking without his dog, and she always sees him with a dog.

Stephen P. Molinari, 33, of Lynn, was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute a class D drug, unlicensed driving, driving an uninsured car, driving an unregistered car, attaching plate, receiving stolen property, and shoplifting after a complaint on Tuesday around 6:30 p.m. Police also arrested another person on a warrant.

Officers took a report of a person posing as a firefighter in order to collect a donation on Wednesday around noon.
