Positioning of Neighbor's Security Camera is 'Suspicious'

The following is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police Department log:
Sunday, Aug. 31
A caller said there were landscapers working at an Ocean Avenue address at 9:58 a.m. Police found a man mowing his lawn but no landscapers.

A person walked in to the station to report a problem with other condominium owners on Nicholson Street at 10:08 a.m. They wanted to find out about getting a harassment order. An officer took a report.
A person with an altered mental status at a Front Street address refused ambulance transport at 10:13 a.m.

An IRS scam call was received at a West Shore Drive address at 11:18 a.m. A voicemail was left on Friday with an Indian voice saying there would be U.S. Treasury Department action and he should cooperate.
A Lifeline call came from an Elm Street address where a person was stuck in a doorway at 11:31 a.m.
An alarm was sounding at the pump station on Lafayette Street at noon. The sewer department was notified.
A car crash occurred on Ballast Lane at 2:27 p.m. The crash involved a Ford Taurus and a GMC Sierra and there was minimal damage. The person who called police thought there may be a neurological problem with the other driver. Police followed one of the driver’s home because he has new pedals in the vehicle.
A possibly drunk female in the parking lot across the street from an Atlantic Avenue address at 5:31 p.m. She was wearing long pants and a black sweater. Police checked the woman and she appeared fine.
The pumping station alarm on Lafayette Street was going off at 5:35 p.m. The Salem Fire Department called too, saying they had received calls about the alarm. The water and sewer department was notified.
Someone called the station at 6:40 p.m. saying she lost her wallet two days ago.
A verbal exchange between several people was reported at a Commercial Street address at 8:31 p.m. An officer requested one of the parents come to the scene. They arrived and took the son home.
Somebody reported that cars parked on both sides of Spray Avenue near Bartlett Street were blocking the passage of emergency vehicles at 10:06 p.m. Several attempts were made to contact the vehicle owners. The vehicles were eventually moved at 10:35 p.m.
A Sparhawk Terrace resident called to report a power outage at 10:35 p.m. Several other Marblehead residents and residents from other communities also reported an outage. Electric light was notified.
A tree branch was down at Lattimer and Green streets at 11:37 p.m. The caller said cleanup could wait until the morning and the Tree Department was notified.
Monday, Sept. 1
A large limb was down on Powder House Court at 1:53 a.m., taking up half the road. An officer was able to move the branch to the sidewalk, where it was then blocking a large portion of the sidewalk.
Water was flooding from the first floor into the basement of a Rockaway Avenue home at 3:36 a.m. It was an issue with the sewer line and the Water and Sewer Department was requested to respond ASAP. The situation was looked at by the Water and Sewer Department and the homeowner.
Suspicious activity was reported at a Stramski Way address at 7:22 a.m. The resident said for the past six night a vehicle has shown up in the parking lot and the next morning, while walking her dog, she finds condoms in the area. She requested an officer check the area.
A person approached an officer on Village Street and said they found a credit card on the docks at 7:31 a.m.
A caller reported that they were unable to get by on the sidewalk near the old fire station on Pleasant Street at 9:47 a.m. A business owner in the area had been told by town officials that there must be enough room for people in wheelchairs to get by.
Vandalism to a fence was reported at an Atlantic Avenue address at 10:03 a.m. A report was filed.
The Tree Department needed West Shore Drive closed for a brief time at 10:11 a.m. so a tree in danger of falling could be removed.
Somebody reported at 11:04 a.m. that there was trash all over the park on Lighthouse Lane.
A branch was down blocking a driveway at a Pleasant Street address at 11:24 a.m. The branch was not in the road and an officer removed the branch.
Vandalism was reported at the house owned by the town on Stramski Way at 11:59 a.m. There was broken glass everywhere and it was “messy.” A message was left with the Parks and Recreation Department because the house was in very poor condition. The door was secured.
A person walked in to the station at 1:31 p.m. and complained about a friend he had been associating with.
A Central Street resident said that a video camera is set up at the house next door and it is suspicious. An officer found at 1:38 p.m. there are multiple security cameras at the location and it may have to do with the construction.
A moving van was parked at a Franklin Street condo complex and the person was not moving into the complex. The moving van was moved at 1:50 p.m.
An ID was found in a driveway on Village Street at 2:55 p.m. A message was left with the owner of the ID via Facebook.
A hit and run crash was reported by Bill’s Towing on Anderson Street at 4:02 p.m.
A found credit card on Smith Street was brought in to the station at 4:18 p.m.
The outside odor of smoke was reported on West Shore Drive at 7:49 p.m. It was from cooking.
The power was out on Edgemere Road and several other nearby streets at 8:01 p.m. Electric light was notified. The power was back on at 10:33 p.m.
A woman at a Broughton Road address said she recently got a prescription filled and now most of the pills are gone at 8:02 p.m. She said the only person with access to the pills is her son.
A man at an Atlantic Avenue address reported seeing an outside fire in a backyard across the street at 9:16 p.m. The fire was extinguished.
