Power Cut for Hours After Cement Truck Rips Down Lines
A cement mixer was the culprit when power lines were ripped down, cutting electrical service, in a Marblehead neighborhood Wednesday night.

A cement mixer truck got caught up in utility wires and pulled down three poles on Peach Highlands on Wednesday night.
It caused a portion of the neighborhood to lose power on Wednesday night, starting at about 5 p.m.
Three utility poles had to be reset, according to the Marblehead Municipal Light Department. One of the felled poles had a transformer on it.

After the incident, power was cut to homes on Blueberry Road and Peach Highlands, according to the Light Department. It took several hours for the new poles to be installed and power service to be restored.
“I pulled out and the next thing I knew there was a big boom and sparks,” cement truck driver Dave Richard told WHDH-TV, as seen in the accompanying video. “I stopped immediately.”

At first, Richard stayed inside the truck, police said, because the wires were arcing.
Nobody was injured, according to police.
Marblehead police contacted the State Police truck team and the investigation is ongoing.
