Samaritans Pull Marblehead Kayaker From Frigid Harbor

Michelle Jones Brown didn't get the names of the three men who pulled her from the 45-degree water.

MARBLEHEAD, MA —A Marblehead woman is crediting three men who "literally saved my life" after her kayak capsized in Marblehead Harbor Thursday.

"I was in shock and didn't get your names, but I am so grateful you found me and got me out of the water," Brown wrote in a post on a Facebook group for Marblehead residents. "Thank you guys again, and if there is anything I can ever do to repay you, just let me know."

Brown fell into the 45-degree water. She said it was her first such mishap in 20 years of kayaking. "You can be sure I'm going to make some changes to my safety plan & preparations before I go out in water this cold again," she said.
