Several Cars Entered Overnight, Glasses, GPS Taken

The following is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police Department log:

Tuesday, Sept. 30

An unlocked car was entered on Shepard Street overnight. It was reported at 8:07 a.m. The car was unlocked and gone through but nothing was taken. Other neighbors approached an officer to say their car were entered but nobody said anything was missing.

Marblehead Movers was at a Garfield Street address moving stuff out and into storage at 8:21 a.m. They will call if the resident shows up.

A black Trek Cyclone bicycle worth $2,500 was stolen from a Guernsey Street address at 8:24 a.m.

A Toyota Highlander was entered on Evans Road. It was reported at 8:29 a.m. that old sunglasses and a small amount of money was taken.

A Shepard Street resident reported the door on their Subaru Forester was ajar and the door was open at 9:15 a.m.

An attempt was made to serve a summons at a Pleasant Street address at 9:37 a.m.

A car was entered overnight on Roosevelt Avenue. At 9:58 a.m. it was reported that two pairs of sunglasses were taken.

A parking complaint came in at 10:43 a.m. on Devereux Street. The complainant was satisfied that a ticket was issued and told they should contact the highway department to have lined painted in the area.

A black Lexus RX330 was reported to be parked all day, every day in a two hour parking area in front of the Three Cod Tavern on Pleasant Street at 11:19 a.m.

A Roosevelt Avenue resident reported at 11:52 a.m. that her car door was ajar in the morning and prescription glasses and sunglasses were stolen. Several items from the car were thrown out on the ground, but a bag of expired medication in the back was untouched.

An employee at the Coffin School reported at 11:58 a.m. that they have received complaints that the crossing guard at Lincoln Avenue and Green Street is not walking out into the street to cross children.

An Acura was entered on Shepard Street and nothing was taken. At 1:22 p.m. it was reported that the car was left unlocked and everything was rifled through.

Suspicious activity was reported at a Mansion Road address at 2:50 a.m. A caller said a black man on the walkway was waving his arms and was holding a bag. The man was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, green shirt and was carrying a paper. The man walked toward Ocean Avenue. Police located the man and found that he was working for Verizon. He was told about the town bylaw.

An iPhone was found in the street on Washington Street at 2:53 p.m. The phone was plugged in and the owner’s name popped up on it.

A Roosevelt Avenue resident reported at 3 p.m. that someone entered a Volvo XC70 overnight and took two pairs of sunglasses. The person said it also looked like someone dumped items across the street because there was a duffle bag with shoes and other items. The caller went through the bag looking for their sunglasses but did not find them in the bag.

A vehicle was entered overnight on Harris Street and was reported at 4:06 p.m. Nothing was taken.

A bus was reportedly stuck on Pleasant Street at 4:16 p.m.

A GMC Acadia was entered overnight on Evans Road. At 5:23 p.m., it was reported that sunglasses were taken.
