Which Road in Marblehead Needs a Speed Bump?
We asked Patch readers on Facebook what streets they thought needed a speed bump. Find out what your neighbors told us.

Marblehead, MA- Over 9,000 fatalities occurred nationally during 2014 due to speeding according to the latest statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The data also shows a correlation between a driver’s age and the likelihood of a speed-related accident. As the age of a driver increases, their risk of being in an accident decreases. Men are also more likely to be at the wheel during a speeding accident, according to the study.
While the number of speed-related fatalities have continually decreased since 2005, speeding still remains an issue in many of our Patch communities, including Marblehead. Readers suggested everything from increased police presence to more stop signs to building less housing to keep traffic at bay.

- "Beacon Street, it's very narrow in places and no where to walk or go when cars are coming around the bends in the road! Definitely speed bumps because a lot of bikers and runners use it!"
- "Rockaway. I've actually been passed before and I was going the speed limit."
- "Every road in Marblehead!"
- "Auburndale. People cut through to avoid the light on Maple and bomb through. The street is full of children!"
- "Bowden St. Contractors use it as a cut through to the lumber yard and everyone goes so fast!"
- "Any part of West Shore Drive, and Green Street. Basically all of them!"
- "Lincoln Ave. No one stops at corner at bottom of hill. They fly up from Creesy/Green."
- "Pond St, both ends and one in the middle."

- "West Shore Drive and Green Street/ Pitman Rd intersection."
- "Jersey Street without a doubt! Right at the hill."
- "Maple, in front of Glover, with a crosswalk!"
- "Humphrey St. It's like route 128 some days!"
