Woman Killed in Marblehead Car Crash

Lynn resident and Lynn Item writer Michele Durgin perished in the crash.

MARBLEHEAD, MA – A car crash in Marblehead killed local writer Michele Durgin on Saturday night, according to police. The car Durgin drove went into a tree in the area of Tedesco Street and ended up in a yard.

Per the police log, multiple people called police to report the accident around 5:30 p.m. A passerby stayed with Durgin while she was semi conscious, and animal control took the dog that was in the car to the vet "as a precaution."

It is unclear how the accident occurred. The police log stated that a state trooper from the state Accident Reconstruction Team was involved with the case.
