100 Years Ago: Women Voters Show Up in Force in Ward 1
Just about every day Marlborough Patch will highlight an interesting story from the Marlborough Daily Enterprise published on that date 100 years ago.

Nov. 16, 1911: Women From Ward One: Registrars Almost Overwhelmed Wednesday Night by Their Arrival
Registration for the municipal election closed Wednesday evening with 3398 names on the voting list. This is an increase of 17 since the state election of which ten were put on the last day. The registrars were in session from 12 until 10. Nobody appeared to be greatly interested in anything of a political nature, until the closing hour, when a commotion was created by the arrival of a number of women in the corridors. Votes for women and California were heard in accents low and hesitating along the hall. The commotion increased as woman after woman was registered from Ward 1
