MARLBOROUGH, MA — A Texas-based developer has plans to build a 300-unit residential complex in a wooded area between the Fort Meadow Reservoir and the Assabet River Trail, according to city officials.
Trammel Crow Corp. went to city council at the end of July seeking a residential overlay district for a parcel along Sasseville Way just east of Fitchburg Street. Trammel's request, however, did not include details about any proposed development.
Residents near the proposed development recently received a letter from Ward 6 Councilor Sean Navin alerting them to an upcoming hearing in the city council's Urban Affairs Committee about plans for the residential development. The hearing will take place on Sept. 11.

"I would encourage you to attend this meeting in order to hear the developer's proposal," Navin's letter said. "There will be an opportunity to ask questions and voice your opinion."
Trammel Crow entered into an agreement with Boston Scientific — whose headquarters is south of the proposed development area — in July to buy the parcel off Sasseville Way. The company, which is linked to CBRE Group, Inc., has built commercial and residential buildings across the U.S., but hasn't completed any in Massachusetts so far, according to the company's website.
