2. The Society of Fire Protection Engineers recently pointed out that most people are wrong when it comes to their views on fire safety. Federal government statistics confirm that in 2009 there were 356,200 residential fires resulting in 2,480 deaths and 12,600 injuries in the United States. In the same year, there were 89,200 fires in non-residential buildings resulting in 90 deaths and 1,500 injuries. Food for thought.
