2. The Friends Author Series will host Elizabeth Benedict, a highly regarded novelist, journalist, teacher of creative writing, editor, and writing coach, this evening at 6:30. She has published five acclaimed novels, a classic book on writing fiction, and hundreds of reviews, essays, and magazine articles. She is the editor of the upcoming anthology, Mentors, Muses & Monsters: 30 Writers on the People Who Changed Their Lives.
3. here in Marlborough will host a fundraising event for this Sunday, May 1. The eatery will donate up to 20 percent

4. The Better Business Bureau warns that with Wi-Fi networks popping up just about everywhere, many consumers don’t realize the dangers that come with using a Wi-Fi connection that is not their own. According to a recent poll conducted by Wakefield Research and Wi-Fi Alliance, 32 percent of respondents said they have tried to get on a Wi-Fi network that was not their own, 18 percent more than a December 2008 poll. The BBB, along with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), urges consumers to think ahead before surfing the Web on a Wi-Fi hotspot.
