5 Things You Need to Know Today: Dec. 27

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. The weather should be alright for the ride to work this morning, but the National Weather Service expects the possibility of rain for the trip home. More importantly, there is wind advisory for Central Massachusetts warning of 26 miles per hour sustained winds with gusts up to 50 miles per hour. 

2. Now in the thick of school vacation week, the  wants to help keep the kids busy. The Children's Room will be hosting events Thursday, Dec. 29 with a drop-in movie, "The Goonies" at 6:30 p.m., then again Friday, Dec. 30 for a drop-in Craft Snowman event from 10 a.m. to noon.

4. Things are back to business as usual at the Boston Post Road East branch of the Marlborough Savings Bank . Police are still investigating the crime and there has been no one arrested as of yet.
