5 Things You Need to Know Today: Dec. 6

One local company has fired their top executives and Marlborough residents will have a chance to step back in time this weekend.

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. The National Weather Service says there is a moderate chance of snow in the region late Wednesday evening into Thursday morning. 

2. There will be a free a cappella concert of holiday music Wednesday evening at the Marlborough Public Library in the Bigelow Auditorium from 7-8:30 p.m. Musicians Aubrey Johnson, Christine Fawson, David Thorne Scott and Tsunenori "Lee" Abe comprise the group Syncopation.

3. The will present "Christmas at the Farm" Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Peter Rice Homestead, 377 Elm St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors will enjoy a "magical, decorative setting in the 1688 center chimney colonial. Period furnishings, art, displays and an incredible tea-coffee-baked goods sit down with servers dressed in colonial era clothing." The event will also feature evergreens, holly, roaring fireplaces, hot gingerbread and drinks, baked goods, music and more.

4. Marlborough Junior Girl Scout troop 72843 will be having a cookie booth sale at the  on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Go pick up a couple boxes and help support our Girl Scout program. You can also donate boxes of cookies to service personnel serving overseas. The donated cookies will be sent to Hanscom Air Force Base and airlifted to our service men and women.

5. As part of their bankruptcy process, Evergreen Solar here in Marlborough has announced the firing of their executive team, according to a recent Worcester Business Journal article.
