The High School could be in store for a big financial boost, but will face some pretty stiff competition to get it.
Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

2. The Arts Alliance and the Assabet Valley Camera Club are holding their annual Photography Exhibit at the Citizen Bank, 17 Pope St., Hudson. Twenty two artists from eleven area communities are exhibiting their color, black and white, digital and traditional film prints. The public is invited to view the exhibit whenever the bank is open to the public; Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon. The exhibit will be on display through Dec. 9.

3. The will be making its announcement about the festivities to be held during their "Home for the Holidays" event on Union Common on Friday, Dec. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. The kick-off begins with the placement of the Santa Mailboxes by the Post Office for letters to be sent Santa. Postmaster Nick Tselikis will be on hand to discuss where these special mailboxes will be placed and also the holiday stamps that will be available at the Post Office this season.
4. is participating in the Glee "Give a Note" national competition that will donate $1,000,000 do one lucky high school music program in the U.S. After submitting a video to be judged, MHS has heard from the competition that they have migrated to the next level of judging! The winner will be announced Thursday, Dec. 15.
