5 Things You Need to Know Today: Nov. 2

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. The unofficial results are in: Arthur Vigeant is by the slimmest of margins, 42 votes.

2. Don't forget! The kids are back in school today! 

3. Beginning Monday, Nov. 7, the has announced that they will begin curbside pickup of the debris left by the weekend snow storm.

4. The next test date for the entrance test to the  program is on Wednesday, Nov. 9, during the evening, from 6 until approximately 9 p.m. Registration must take place at least 48 hours prior to the date, and can be done online. Applicants should visit the website, click on LPN Program and then go to Quick links-Entrance Exam to register and sign up for an exam. There is a Study Guide available at the same site. Bring confirmation of test registration the evening of the exam.

5. Marlborough resident Ginny Carpenter is playing Miss Skillon in the British farce “See How They Run” at The Cannon Theater in Littleton over the next couple week. The comedy, which will continue Friday, Nov. 4, is about a young vicar's wife who is trying to fit into a small, tightly knit British town. Show timesNov. 4, 5; 11, 12; 17, 18, 19 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. Cupcakes and cookies will be available on Oct. 28 and 29, catered by Sweetpea Bakery. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors 65 and over/students with ID, and $10 for children 12 and under. You may get your tickets online, or you can send your check into the theater using the online ticket form. You can also call Shawn at 978-760-3397 or Bret at 603-289-4017 or e-mail Shawn at or Bret.
