MA Pizza Chain Offers 1980s Menu Prices For Anniversary
The July promotion will celebrate 40 years in business for the Northborough-based Italian restaurant chain.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — A Massachusetts-based Italian restaurant chain will offer 1980s pricing in July — a celebration of its 40th year, and a move to counteract recent inflationary pricing in the U.S.
Bertucci's opened its first location in Somerville's Davis Square in 1981, with two more shortly after in Cambridge and Holliston. Now based in Northborough, Bertucci's operates 50 restaurants along the East Coast from New Hampshire to Virginia.
The chain filed for bankruptcy in 2018, and Earl Enterprises CEO Robert Earl purchase it for about $20 million. The company owns 14 restaurant brands, including Planet Hollywood and Buca Di Beppo.

The 1980s menu will include small pizzas for as low as $5.25 in addition to salads, pasta and desserts. Earl said he hopes the promotion will entice diners to out to eat again. The prices are for dine-in service only.
“Prices are going through the roof because of the labor supply and supply chain of food. You turn on any TV and all you see is recession and inflation,” Earl told the Boston Business Journal.
