Boys and Girls Club Raises $157,000 at Gala
Marlborough Businesses and resident were honored as key partners in the effort.
The recently announced the success of their annual fundraising event, the 2011 Bids for Kids Auction and Gala. The event, held Oct. 27 in Framingham and hosted by Susan Wornick of WCVB Channel 5, raised $157,000 for the nonprofit organization.
Approximately 380 guests, sponsors and honorees were in attendance for the event, which featured an large silent auction and raffle. Marlborough businesses and were thanked as sponsors of the event and supporters of the organization.
“We are thankful for the support of all of our wonderful sponsors who helped make this year’s gala a tremendous success,” said Fran Hurley, President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metrowest. “The evening’s theme was Dream the Future, and thanks to our great supporters, we are able to provide the opportunity for a positive future to over 650 kids each day in the MetroWest community.”

St. Mary's was named a 2011 Corporate Partner for Youth; Murphy Insurance was the Small Business Partner for Youth; and BGCMW volunteer and Marlborough resident, Michelle Thier, was the recipient of the 2011 Michael C. Sullivan Award.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest’s 2012 Bids for Kids Auction & Gala is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012. Those interested in participating or sponsoring the event should call the Resource Development office at 508-485-4912.
